FAQs

The questions we get asked most

Everything from how much space you need to what happens if it tips it down. If your question is not here, just ask - we reply to everything.

Booking

How do I book a marquee?
Choose your marquee, pick an available date on our calendar, add any extras and fill in your details. It takes a couple of minutes. We then confirm your booking by email or phone - no payment is taken online at the moment.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can for summer weekends - they go first. Online bookings need at least 2 days' notice. If your date is sooner than that, ring us and we will see what we can do.
How long is the hire period?
A standard hire is 24 hours: we deliver and set up on your event day and collect the next day at an agreed time. Need it for the whole weekend? Add extra days when you book.
What happens after I submit a booking?
You will see a confirmation screen with your booking reference. We then check the details, confirm your delivery window and let you know how to pay. Your date is held for you in the meantime.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Yes - get in touch as early as you can and we will move it or cancel it. The notice periods and any charges are set out in our terms and conditions.

Delivery & setup

Do you deliver and set up the marquee?
Yes. We deliver it, put it up, show you how everything works, and come back to take it down and collect it. You do not need to lift anything heavier than a drink.
What areas do you cover?
We cover Gnosall and the surrounding area, typically within about 15 miles. Delivery and setup are included within 10 miles. A bit further out? Ask us - we usually can, we will just quote you a price first.
How long does setup take?
Around an hour for the 6m × 4m and considerably less for the 3m × 2m. We agree a delivery window with you in advance so you are not waiting around all morning.
Does someone need to be at home?
Yes, someone over 18 needs to be there when we deliver, to show us where the marquee goes and to take a quick look over it with us.

Space & site

How much space do I need?
Allow roughly 6m × 4m for the 6m × 4m marquee, or 3m × 2m for the Mini, plus about a metre spare on every side for guy ropes and pegging.
Can it go on a patio or decking rather than grass?
Usually, yes. Grass is ideal because it takes pegs, which is the most secure fixing. On hard standing we secure the marquee with weights instead. Tell us the surface when you book so we bring the right kit.
How many people fit inside?
The 6m × 4m seats around 24 at tables, or about 40 standing. Furniture, a bar or a dance floor will change that, so treat it as a guide and ask us if you are close to the limit.
What if access to my garden is narrow?
Not usually a problem, but please tell us the width of the narrowest gate or passage when you book so we can plan for it.

Weather & safety

What happens if the weather is bad?
Our marquees are designed to cope with a typical British summer - rain, drizzle and a bit of breeze. They are temporary structures rather than permanent buildings, so in severe weather such as high winds or storms we may need to postpone, take the marquee down early, or cancel. We will always talk it through with you, and safety comes first. The details are in our terms and conditions.
Is the marquee waterproof?
The covers are designed to keep rain out and in normal conditions they do exactly that. In prolonged heavy rain or wind-driven rain you may get some ingress around the edges - so we would not put anything precious right up against the walls.
Can I use a BBQ or heater inside the marquee?
Never use a BBQ, fire pit, open flame or fuel-burning appliance inside or against the marquee. Our electric heater is designed for the job and we site it safely on delivery. Cook outside, eat inside.

Extras & payment

What extras can I add?
A projector, a 100" screen, a sound system and a heater. You can add them individually or take one of our packages - a garden cinema night, for instance, is the marquee, the projector, the screen and the sound system together.
Do I need to provide power?
Yes, for anything electrical. A standard outdoor-safe socket within reach of the marquee is all you need - an outdoor extension lead is fine.
How and when do I pay?
We do not take payment online yet. Once we have confirmed your booking we will let you know how to pay and by when. Nothing is charged at the point you submit the form.
Do you take a damage deposit?
Not at the moment. We do ask that the marquee and any equipment come back in the condition they arrived in - the fair-wear-and-tear position is set out in our terms.
